About the only thing Auckland’s seven mayors can agree on is that they don’t want some rushed, below average Queens Wharf development in time for the World Cup. But are central government listening? No.
John Key was ‘dissapointed’ that Auckland’s mayors couldn’t agree on one of the proposed developments. I feel that Auckland’s mayors are in a much better position to decide what Auckland needs rather than John Key. For once, it is nice to see that local council is trying to save money by not agreeing to something they don’t think is right. And Mr Key is dissapointed in them? I hate to think what kind of influence central government will have over the new Super City Council and Mayor.
